During the visit, the delegation met with Chinese technology firms, machinery manufacturers, and agricultural universities, signing four MoUs to strengthen cooperation, according to a statement issued on Friday.
Under an agreement with Piesat Technology Company, crop monitoring will be carried out through a modern satellite-based system covering all stages from sowing to harvest. The system will help monitor cultivated areas, identify pests and diseases, ensure timely fertiliser use, and estimate yields using artificial intelligence and remote sensing.
Gold Dafeng Machinery Company also agreed to establish a tractor and harvester manufacturing plant in Punjab through a public-private partnership. Additionally, under the third and fourth MoUs, a Chinese Agricultural University will help develop high-quality seed varieties and establish a Center of Excellence for Advanced Agricultural Research in the province.
On this occasion, Kirmani said the use of modern technology in agriculture was indispensable and is transforming the agriculture sector to align with global standards.
