The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has decided to launch a Measles and Rubella (MR) vaccination campaign targeting children aged six months to five years.

The drive, to be conducted across both private and government schools, is scheduled to run from November 17 to November 28, 2025, across the province.

Health teams will visit schools and educational institutions across the district, while follow-up activities will be conducted to ensure that all eligible children have received the vaccination.

All institutions and schools have been instructed to cooperate with the vaccination teams, aiding the success of the immunisation drive.

Any school that refuses vaccinations for its children will face legal action under the relevant laws.

Just last month, the Expanded Programme on Immunisation Sindh (EPI), in collaboration with UNICEF, announced a nationwide MR vaccination drive to kick off in November.

Further, the EPI announced that the drive has been expanded to include children aged six months to five years as, according to data, this age group remains the most affected by MR.
