Woman, daughter died due to factures

The post-mortem reports of a woman and her infant daughter who died after falling into an drain in the Bhatti Gate area, revealed that they suffered severe head injuries.

According to the reports, the woman, Sadia had suffered a right shoulder bone fracture and the infant’s neck bone was broken.

The reports confirmed that the deaths had occurred because of fractures in the head and neck.

The post-mortems were conducted by a lady doctor and the reports have been ‘sealed’, sources said.

In light of the findings, the police have added Section 316 of the Pakistan Penal Code to the First Information Report (FIR), in addition to Section 322, which had initially been applied by the pol8ce operations wing, treating the incident as an accident.

Investigators said Section 316 had been invoked due to the death of the child, citing criminal negligence leading to loss of life.
