The hackathon was held to push forward emerging technologies and to promote modern scientific and IT skills in the country, according to a statement issued by the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) on Tuesday.

Addressing the event, PAEC Chairman Dr Raja Ali Raza Anwar said quantum technology was fast becoming a transformative force shaping the world of tomorrow.

He stressed that quantum computing was not designed to replace conventional computing systems, but to work alongside them.
The Director General of the National Institute of Lasers and Optronics, Dr Manzoor Akram, said the event aimed to raise awareness about quantum technologies and support the development of quantum algorithms to help solve global challenges.
At the closing ceremony, organisers said participants reaffirmed their commitment to building scientific expertise in emerging technologies.
