The cheque distribution ceremony, held in Quetta, was attended by senior military and civil officials, along with hundreds of enthusiastic farmers. The initiative, a collaborative effort between the federal government, army, and the provincial administration, aims to transform barren lands into productive farmlands and empower small-scale farmers.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Bugti described the program as a game-changer for the province’s economy. He announced that the loans would enable modern farming on 35,609 acres of land, providing farmers with funds for seeds, fertilizers, machinery, and other essential inputs. Repayable in easy installments without interest, the loans are designed to uplift poor farmers and promote sustainable agriculture in the region’s challenging, arid terrain.
“This is not just financial assistance; it is a weapon to empower our farmers and turn Balochistan into an agricultural powerhouse,” Bugti said. “Alongside eradicating terrorism, economic progress is our top priority. The Green Pakistan Initiative is paving the way for agricultural strength, new employment opportunities, and food self-sufficiency.”
Farmers expressed overwhelming joy and optimism. Many described the day as a golden chapter in their lives, believing the support would allow previously uncultivable lands to yield bountiful crops. “Our barren fields will now grow gold,” one farmer remarked amid cheers from the crowd.
