According to police and local sources, the attackers opened heavy fire on the plant late Saturday night, partially damaging machinery and halting operations. They then abducted three dailywage labourers from Musakhel district who were working at the site. The assailants also targeted a nearby police checkpoint, overpowering three officers and fleeing with their service weapons.
The incident occurred in a far-flung area of Barkhan where the company was engaged in road construction and related infrastructure projects.
The abducted labourers have been identified as residents of Musakhel, employed on a daily basis at the plant.
Immediately after the attack, security forces, including police, Levies, and Frontier Corps (FC) teams, launched a search operation in the area to track down the suspects and recover the abducted workers. No information has been received so far regarding the whereabouts of the kidnapped individuals or the arrest of the attackers.
Company officials confirmed the incident and said they are in contact with the families of the affected labourers.
This latest assault adds to a string of recent incidents targeting construction companies, workers, and security personnel involved in road and infrastructure projects across Balochistan. Analysts suggest such attacks aim to disrupt development work and spread fear in the region.
The district administration has tightened security in affected areas and appealed to the public to report any suspicious activity promptly.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack at the time of reporting. Authorities continue their efforts to restore calm and ensure the safety of ongoing projects in the district.
