Vogue has unveiled its May 2025 issue in celebration of the upcoming Met Gala, putting Black excellence at the forefront of fashion’s most prestigious night.

The theme for this year’s Costume Institute exhibition, titled Superfine: Tailoring Black Style, marks a significant moment as the first menswear-focused Met Gala theme in over two decades. The exhibit explores the cultural legacy of the Black dandy and highlights the historical and contemporary influence of Black style.

Created in collaboration with GQ, the cover and accompanying portfolio feature a diverse group of figures from fashion, entertainment, sport, and the arts. Among those included are Teyana Taylor, Janelle Monáe, LaKeith Stanfield, A’ja Wilson, Spike Lee, Dapper Dan, Anok Yai, and Law Roach. Together, they embody the theme’s focus on individuality, heritage, and sartorial innovation.

This year’s Met Gala co-chairs—A$AP Rocky, LeBron James, Pharrell Williams, and Colman Domingo—bring a unique blend of creative and cultural significance to the event.
