The statements of the victim’s wife and security guards have been recorded as part of the ongoing investigation, sources told The Express Tribune. Police are continuing their inquiry with the security guard who was on duty at the time of the incident.
They added that weapons have been recovered from the suspects in custody, and it is still under investigation whether the detained individuals were directly involved in the murder.

According to sources, the victim’s family told police that four to five armed men broke into their farmhouse, locking the security guard in his room and cutting the grill of one of the windows. Awan tried to resist them when they opened fire. He was immediately taken to Shifa International Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police officials said the initial investigation indicates the deceased was hit by two bullets, one in the leg and the other in the stomach. So far, the family has not reported any theft from the house.
Authorities have obtained post-mortem samples and gathered all CCTV footage. The police have also geo-fenced the area and formed a special team to track and arrest the suspects.
