The Additional District and Sessions Courts at the Judicial Complex in Rawalpindi delivered verdicts in three murder cases, sentencing three convicts to various punishments.
Collectively, the accused in the three cases were awarded the death penalty, life imprisonment, 12 years’ rigorous imprisonment, Rs1.474 million as diyat/ars (compensation for bodily harm), Rs1.1m in damages, Rs110,000 as surety, and fines amounting to Rs60,000.
All three convicts had absconded after committing the crimes but were later arrested by police, who also recovered the weapons used in the offences.
In its judgment, the court ordered that the two convicts sentenced to death be “hanged by the neck until dead.” Following the pronouncement of sentences, all three were transferred to Adiala Jail.
