Zeeshan Abdul Latif, a resident of Muslim Town, who ran a hotel in Lasani Chowk, took the stand in a case filed with the Sargodha Road police that dozens of people including Khawaja Ehsan, Sub-Inspector Khawaja Mohsin, Abdullah, resident of Sargodha Road, entered the hotel armed with weapons to take revenge for a minor altercation, beat up the employees and opened fire on his brother Irfan with the intention of killing him, who escaped.
The bullet hit Khawaja Ehsan Abdul Ghani on the hand.
After the video of the police sub-inspector and his brothers storming a hotel went viral on social media, City Police Officer Faisalabad, Sahibzada Bilal Umar, took notice of the matter, suspended Sub-Inspector Mohsin Ghani and appointed SP Madina Town as the inquiry officer, saying that strict departmental action would be taken against the employees who exceeded their authority.
Meanwhile, a case has been registered against two accused for entering a showroom owner’s office and attacking his employees after he refused to pay extortion money.
As per an FIR lodged by Ameer Hamza, a resident of Jhang, at the Madina Town Police Station, he owns a car showroom near the Hockey Stadium. He stated that for a long time, the accused Saeed Qasai had been demanding extortion over the phone and threatening him upon refusal.
The complaint further states that a day earlier, the accused Saeed Qasai and Rana Adnan demanded Rs2.5 million in extortion and also insisted on setting arbitrary prices for vehicles.
Upon his refusal, the armed accused arrived at the showroom in a vehicle, assaulted the employees present in the office, and took away car keys and office records.
He also mentioned that the accused are now threatening to kill him for not paying the extortion. A video of the accused entering the showroom with weapons has gone viral on social media.
Madina Town Police have registered a case against the accused.
