The preview, released on May 5, opens with a black coffin wheeled into the dormitory. Inside is Seong Gi-hun, who awakens, later seen handcuffed and disoriented, hinting at his critical role in the new phase of the games.
One of the new games is introduced through a giant gumball machine filled with red and blue balls. Players are shown turning a dial to draw a colour as the focus shifts to the emotional fallout for Geum-ja and her son Yong-sik after they draw opposing colours.
The teaser also features cryptic imagery, including players receiving boxes with stacked circle, triangle and square symbols — possibly a clue to the next challenge.
Other highlights include masked VIPs at a banquet table, and Guard 11 sneaking through ventilation shafts. Detective Hwang Jun-ho returns with a drawn weapon, suggesting a long-awaited confrontation with the Front Man is near. The trailer concludes with Player 222 shedding a tear as a baby cries.
Squid Game Season 3 premieres on Netflix on June 27, 2025.
