Speaking at a road safety awareness campaign at the Karachi Press Club, AIG Odho said that a strategy has been developed to address rising traffic accidents. An advisory committee has been set up to implement this strategy, with anticipated positive outcomes in the near future.
Motorcyclists account for 58 per cent of traffic-related fatalities, while 25 to 30 per cent of accidents result from improper road crossing, AIG Odho said. He appreciated the role of Community Policing Karachi (CPK) for contributing to crime reduction through the installation of CCTV cameras and the establishment of control rooms in 16 police stations.
The event was jointly organised by Community Policing Karachi and the Karachi Press Club. Attendees included DIG Traffic and CPK Chief Murad Soni, among others.
