Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL), the country’s leading telecom and ICT services provider, has announced a strategic partnership with DWP Technologies to upgrade its data centre infrastructure.

The collaboration, announced through a press release, will integrate software-driven Enterprise and Mid-tier storage platforms from Dell Technologies, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and scalability.

A formal signing ceremony took place in Islamabad, attended by Jafar Khalid, Group Chief Technology and Information Officer at PTCL & Ufone 4G, Rohail Bashir, Chief Operating Officer at DWP Technologies (Pvt.) Ltd., and senior representatives from PTCL Group, DWP, and Dell Technologies.

This initiative is part of PTCL’s ongoing digital transformation journey to modernise its storage systems and meet the increasing data demands of its expanding network.

The existing mission-critical platform supporting PTCL and Ufone 4G across three sites—connected through enterprise replication services (SRDF)—will remain fully operational and maintained throughout the upgrade to ensure business continuity.

The new infrastructure features a three-site active-active metro architecture, designed to guarantee continuous service even during localised disruptions. The platform also offers built-in scalability to support future growth within the PTCL Group.

The upgrade is expected to significantly reduce PTCL’s data centre footprint and lower power and cooling requirements, contributing to decreased operational costs and improved energy efficiency.

It also reflects PTCL’s dedication to technological innovation and future readiness, enabling the company to better serve the evolving needs of its individual and enterprise customers.
