The Judicial Magistrate South has granted a two-day physical remand of the suspects involved in torturing a young man in DHA Ittihad Commercial. The police had presented the accused Salman Farooqi and Owais Hashmi in the court.

The police submitted the FIR, which was registered on a complaint filed by an eyewitness Muhammad Saleem, a sales manager at a mobile company who was present in the area for work-related purposes.

Lawyer of the accused Naeem Qureshi filed a bail application on behalf of his client, arguing that the charges, primarily involving threats, were bailable under the law. However, the investigating officer (IO) requested a physical remand for further inquiry.

Qureshi requested the court to grant only a one-day physical remand, however, after hearing both sides, the court granted a two-day physical remand and directed the IO to submit a progress report at the next hearing. As the accused were being taken out of the courtroom, lawyers shouted, ‘beat them’. One lawyer even slapped Salman Farooqi.
