The Sindh government has imposed Section 144 across the province and banned pillion riding on the 9th and 10th of Muharram, according to an official notification issued on Wednesday.
The decision is part of security measures during the month of Muharram, aimed at maintaining law and order during processions and religious gatherings, Express News reported.
According to the notification, children under the age of 12, elderly individuals, and journalists will be exempt from the pillion riding ban. The carrying of licenced weapons has also been prohibited, and all arms permits will remain suspended across the province.
The department has further banned the use of drone cameras from the 1st to the 10th of Muharram, and barred the organisation of rallies or gatherings without prior permission from authorities.
