Inter Miami, meanwhile, are understood to be keen to extend Messi’s stay following his impactful stint in the MLS. The club’s ownership and fan base see Messi as central to their ongoing sporting and commercial growth, though they now face renewed competition.
Veteran sports journalist Fabrizio Romano reported last week that Inter Miami are set to begin talks over a new contract for Messi soon.
