Each squad will consist of 10 highly trained personnel, armed with state-of-the-art sniper rifles and thermal imaging devices, enabling them to conduct accurate operations even in cold weather and during nighttime.
In the first phase, the squads will be deployed in the southern districts, Malakand Division, and border regions of K-P — areas that have witnessed recurring terrorism incidents.
A spokesperson for the Central Police Office stated that the creation of this squad aims to strengthen the operational capacity of the provincial police and make operations in difficult geographical conditions more effective.
Officials added that the Sniper Squad will serve as a frontline force in the fight against terrorism, marking a significant step forward in enhancing the K-P police’s capabilities.
