According to reports, the incident occurred near Mustafa Park in the jurisdiction of Pinyari Police Station. A leak in the ice factory led to the release of ammonia gas, which is used in the ice-making process. The pungent and highly unpleasant odor rapidly spread throughout the neighborhood, severely affecting residents-especially those living in houses near the factory.
The strong smell made it difficult for people, particularly children, to breathe, and several individuals reportedly fell ill. Upon receiving information, Sindh Rescue 1122 and the fire brigade rushed to the scene. However, before their arrival, the factory’s machinery technician managed to shut off the ammonia gas supply, stopping the leak.
