Traffic police turn a blind eye to underage bikers

An increasing number of underage bikers are seen fearlessly plying on the roads, with neither traffic nor district police taking any action against them.

These bikers ride motorcycles at high speeds day and night in various parts of the city including Qasimabad, and Hala Naka. In addition to reckless speeding, they can also be seen performing various stunts, often causing their vehicles to skid. Rash biking poses risks to other motorcyclists, car drivers, and pedestrians as well.

In Hyderabad, traffic police officers and personnel are deployed for limited periods at markets and congested areas, performing their duties with reluctance. In congested areas within the city, traffic police officers do not take any action against these underage bikers, however, at the city’s entry and exit points, traffic police constables are seen to be quite vigilant.

During the three days of Eid and on Thursday night, traffic remained heavy on the roads, but no traffic police officers were visible at any location, nor did district police take any action against speeding underage bikers. As a result, an increasing number of them were found sneaking out of their homes at night and riding motorcycles at extremely high speeds.

The bikers are so young that they do not even have identity cards, nor do they possess necessary documents for their motorcycles. They take their family’s motorcycles and ride them with their friends, having no knowledge of even a single traffic rule. The inaction of traffic and district police has given these juvenile bikers the freedom to ride motorcycles on roads with impunity.
