Hina Javed case: Domestic worker’s father claims son is being framed

The father of Zeeshan Arshad, a domestic worker arrested in the murder case of Hina Javed, has claimed his son is innocent and alleged that police tortured him into confessing to the crime.

Muhammad Arshad said his son, who had worked at Hina Javed’s house in Rawalpindi for seven months, told him during jail visits that a dispute had broken out between Hina Javed and her husband, Faisal Asghar, on the night of August 20.

According to the father, Zeeshan said he woke up after hearing the couple arguing and saw Asghar following his wife.

Asghar allegedly scolded him and told him to grab Hina Javed, but Zeeshan said he initially refused to intervene in the couple’s dispute.

Muhammad Arshad alleged that, according to his son, Asghar beat him and forced him at gunpoint to capture Hina Javed.

He further claimed that police tortured Zeeshan during remand and pressured him to confess to the murder.

The father alleged that the blame for Hina Javed’s killing had been shifted entirely onto his son, adding that Zeeshan was 18 or 19 years old and had no previous criminal cases.

He also disputed police claims that his son had a criminal record.

Muhammad Arshad alleged that Asghar had killed Hina Javed and hanged her in the bathroom.

It may be pointed out that these allegations were made by the accused’s father and have not been independently verified.
