8 Fitna Al Hindustan militants killed in Balochistan operations
At least eight Fitna Al Hindustan militants were killed in three intelligence-based operations in Balochistan’s Quetta, Nushki and Khuzdar districts, the military’s media wing said on Sunday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces also recovered weapons, ammunition and 490 kilogrammes of explosives during the operations.
Sources said security personnel foiled an attempt by militants to block a road in the Panjpai area of Quetta on October 17, killing five militants and destroying their hideout.
In a separate operation in Nushki, two more militants were killed in an exchange of fire, while weapons and ammunition were recovered from their hideout, the statement said.
Another operation in Khuzdar resulted in the killing of one militant, with 490kg of explosives recovered from the hideout, it added.
The ISPR said clearance and search operations would continue under the counterterrorism campaign until terrorism was eliminated.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for their action against militants, commending their professionalism, courage and successes in counterterrorism operations.
