Pakistan rejects claims US Navy operating against Iran from its territory

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has dismissed social media claims that the US Navy is operating from Pakistani territory against Iran with Islamabad’s approval, describing them as baseless propaganda aimed at spreading confusion and misinformation.

In a post on its fact-check account, the ministry said the claim originated from a North America-based social media account before being circulated further, Business Recorder said in a report.

It said the allegation was fabricated and part of a broader agenda to create confusion, misperceptions and chaos, adding: “Truth Prevails over Falsehood.”

“Fabricated propaganda by a North America-based account and questioningly proliferated further, that the US Navy is somehow operating from Pakistani territory against Iran, with alleged Pakistani approval, is baseless and part of a wider agenda of sowing confusion, misperceptions and chaos,” the ministry said.

The clarification came hours after Pakistan temporarily suspended trade across its border with Iran in Balochistan’s Chagai district due to security concerns.

Chagai Deputy Commissioner Bakhtiar Ismail said the suspension was a temporary measure aimed at improving border management and supporting counterterrorism efforts.

“The border will be opened as soon as effective measures are in place,” he said in a post on X.
