In line with the directives of the government, a deadline of December 30 has been set for the evacuation of all refugee camps. Official notices in this regard have been served, and the Swabi district administration has also issued a notification ordering the complete vacation of the camps by the stipulated date.
According to the notification, the authorities have decided to demolish Barakai Afghan Refugee Camp (Gohati) and Gandaf Refugee Camp through an operation on December 31.
Notices issued to Afghan refugees through the concerned Station House Officers (SHOs) state that residents of the camps are being informed for the final time to begin practical arrangements for shifting their household belongings and businesses in accordance with the administration’s directives. The notices emphasize that timely compliance will help avoid forced action by the government and ensure a dignified and orderly repatriation of Afghan refugees.
