The second goal came just over nine minutes later when Cole Hutson assisted Cole Eiserman for a powerful one-timer, giving Boston a commanding advantage.
Despite the deficit, Penn State responded early in the third period with a goal from Nic DeGraves, who netted a rebound from close range to bring the Nittany Lions within one.
