Wheat and flour prices have increased further across the country, including Rahim Yar Khan, raising fears of another price hike ahead of the month of Ramazan which is likely to start from Feb 17.

In the open market, the price of wheat has reached Rs4,200 per maund, reflecting an increase of Rs300 per maund over the past month.

As a result of rising wheat prices, flour rates have also gone up, with chakki flour now selling at Rs160 per kilogramme, while flour mill products have become Rs150 to Rs200 more expensive per bag. Traders warn that if the supply chain is not improved, flour shortages and price hikes could worsen further.
