Addressing the separate public meetings, the nationalist leaders reiterated their resolve to continue struggle for Sindh’s rights and to prevent the native population from becoming a minority in their own land. Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz’s leader Dr Niaz Kalani blamed the state and the Sindh police for making all possible efforts to prevent the nationalist workers from marking the day.
He credited Syed for spearheading the Sindh Assembly’s resolution for creation of Pakistan as a separate country for Muslims of the subcontinent. However, he deplored, that his late leader had not expected that the constituent units of Pakistan will be deprived of their rights while facing the state’s alleged injustices.
