Protester removes Iran’s flag in London

A protester who climbed across multiple balconies onto a terrace at Iran’s embassy in London and removed a flag remained in custody on Saturday as police said they had also arrested 13 other people.

The man was held on suspicion of criminal damage, trespass on diplomatic property and assaulting police, London’s Metropolitan Police said in a statement.

“A further 13 arrests were made for several offences, including violent disorder, assault of an emergency worker, criminal damage and trespass on diplomatic premises,” it said.

Four police officers suffered minor injuries during the incident on Friday, it added.
