Speaking at a press conference at the party’s provincial headquarters, Markaz Islami, in Peshawar, he emphasized that displacing citizens in the name of security cannot be justified, and that sustainable peace can only be achieved through dialogue.
He urged the K-P Chief Minister to pay attention to the issues of affected people in his home district. Criticizing the federal government, Naeemur Rehman said it has failed to control inflation, provide employment opportunities, and supply affordable electricity, while the constitution and law are being violated. He announced that after Ramazan, JI would launch a nationwide movement addressing these concerns.
Also present at the press conference were JI Pakistan’s Deputy Amir Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, K-P Central Amir Abdul Wase, former National Assembly member and provincial General Secretary Saber Hussain Awan.
Hafiz Naeemur Rehman reiterated that repeated military operations have displaced patriotic residents of K-P and neighboring tribal districts. “Problems cannot be solved through force. The government should attempt negotiations to resolve issues, and before initiating any new military operation, the outcomes of past operations must be reviewed and shared with the nation,” he said. He added that JI would never support the humiliation of peaceful civilians displaced by such operations.
