Terrorism has significantly increased in Pakistan, particularly in K-P and Balochistan, in recent days. The rise in terrorist activity has led to growing concerns over the security situation in these regions.
In response, security forces have been conducting intensive operations to counter the threat, targeting terrorist groups infiltrating from the Afghan border.

A day earlier, two policemen were martyred, and several others were injured after a suicide attack targeted an inter-provincial checkpost in the Dajal area of Punjab’s Bhakkar.
In a separate incident, five policemen, including a deputy superintendent of police (DSP), were martyred and four others injured when terrorists attacked a police van in the Lachi area of K-P’s Kohat. Two detainees were also killed in the incident.
The attack took place when a police team led by DSP Lachi Asad Mahmood Khan was transporting detainees for investigation. Unidentified armed men opened sudden and indiscriminate fire on the vehicle.
Last week, 12 Indian proxy terrorists were killed, while 11 security personnel were martyred, as the security forces foiled a terrorist attack on a check post in Bajaur.
In another operation, security forces also foiled a major terrorist plot in Balochistan’s Pishin district, killing five terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al Khwarij during a targeted intelligence-based operation.
The federal government has been consistently raising its voice on international forums against terrorist sanctuaries operating in Afghanistan and using its soil to launch attacks on Pakistan — a development attested to by the United Nations Security Council.
Earlier this month, a suicide bomber struck the Imambargah Khadijah al-Kubra during Friday prayers in Islamabad, killing 36 people and injuring around 169 others. The attack was the deadliest in Islamabad in more than a decade and the deadliest nationwide since the Peshawar mosque bombing in January 2023.
Immediately following the blast, raids were conducted in Nowshera and Peshawar, resulting in the arrest of four facilitators. The Daesh-linked mastermind, an Afghan national, was also captured. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi stated that the network behind the blast was trained in Afghanistan and that authorities had gathered intelligence on the suspects prior to the attack.
