According to police, two brothers — Arif Nawaz, 40, and Muhammad Nazeer, 30 — sustained bullet injuries during an altercation at a house in Sector 6-B, Mehran Town, within the limits of the Korangi Industrial Area police station. Both were rushed to JPMC.
SHO Nasir Mahmood said that the two brothers had a personal dispute during which Nazeer allegedly opened fire on his elder brother Arif, injuring him. He then shot himself, leaving himself wounded as well.
Police said that Nazeer is also an epilepsy patient.
Police reached the scene and collected evidence. A .30-bore pistol, two live rounds and three empty shells were recovered from the scene and taken into custody.
Meanwhile, Arif succumbed to his injuries during treatment at JPMC, police said. After completing legal formalities, the body was handed over to the heirs. Police have taken Nazeer into custody, while further investigation is under way.
