‘Drunk driver’ kills two in Hyderabad

Two young men were killed and six persons were injured in an incident of rash driving in Hala Naka area of Hyderabad on Monday evening.

A double-cab vehicle, allegedly being driven by a drunken person, hit a car and several people near Isra University Hospital.

The crowd which witnessed the incident reacted violently by damaging the vehicle before setting it on fire. The mob even not allowed a team of Rescue 1122 to douse the fire. They also caught the driver and roughed him up before the police could take him into custody. The SSP Hyderabad Shahzeb Chachar told that the vehicle’s owner, Zar Nawaz Khan, has been arrested while the police have also detained some people from the crowd who burnt the vehicle and blocked the road for a couple of hours.
