According to the PMD, rain showers accompanied by thunderstorms and hail are likely in several regions, including Islamabad and its surroundings, where partly cloudy skies and heavy downpours are forecast in some areas.
In Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, districts such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, and Haripur are expected to receive rain and hailstorms. Similar weather is predicted in Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Waziristan, Kohat, and Hangu.
Other areas including Lakki Marwat, Bajaur, Mohmand, Karak, Khyber, Peshawar, and Swabi are also on alert for possible hail and heavy showers. Rainfall is also likely in Mardan, Kurram, Dera Ismail Khan, and Bannu.
In Punjab, rain is predicted for Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Mandi Bahauddin. Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, and Sialkot are also expected to receive rainfall.
Lahore, Narowal, Sahiwal, Kasur, Okara, and Faisalabad may experience thunderstorms and hail. Additional areas including Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalnagar, and Bahawalpur are also on the list.
In Sindh, evening and night-time thunderstorms are likely in Sukkur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, and Jacobabad, with similar conditions expected in Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Khairpur.
Meanwhile, parts of Balochistan including Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Musa Khel, Chaman, and Mastung may also see rainfall later in the day. Other affected districts could include Pishin, Killa Abdullah, Killa Saifullah, Loralai, Barkhan, Sibi, Khuzdar, Chagai, and Noshki.
In Peshawar, light overnight showers helped improve weather conditions. However, dust storms and hail remain a concern in lowland areas including Peshawar and Bannu.
On Wednesday, Peshawar recorded a high of 39°C, Dera Ismail Khan 43°C, Bannu 42°C, and Mardan and Takht Bhai 39°C. In the northern areas, Kalam recorded 30°C, Malam Jabba 27°C, and Chitral 35°C.
The PMD has advised the public and relevant authorities to remain alert and take necessary precautions amid the changing weather conditions.
