Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that, unlike the company’s other six parks worldwide, the Abu Dhabi theme park will not be owned by Disney. Instead, the park will be part of a licensing deal with Miral, with Disney providing intellectual property and receiving royalties. Iger explained that Disney will oversee the design and development but will not directly operate the park, unlike the company’s other resorts such as Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

The new park, which will incorporate Disney’s iconic characters, stories, and attractions, is designed to blend Disney’s legacy with the modern and cultural essence of Abu Dhabi. The resort will feature themed accommodations, unique dining and retail experiences, and immersive entertainment. Iger emphasized that the park will celebrate both the heritage of Disney and the futuristic essence of the UAE capital.

Miral’s chairman, Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating that the collaboration would create a unique experience blending creativity with the region’s heritage. With Disney’s involvement, the Abu Dhabi theme park is set to become a major new attraction for the Middle East and beyond, inspiring generations of families with its magical experiences.
