Justin Bieber has publicly supported Chris Brown following the latter’s release on £5.3 million bail after his recent arrest connected to an alleged 2023 London nightclub assault.

Chris Brown was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent after being accused of attacking music producer Abe Diaw with a tequila bottle on 19 February 2023. The incident allegedly included additional physical assault, with Diaw claiming, “He hit me over the head two or three times. My knee collapsed as well.”

Brown was arrested on May 15, 2025 at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester and appeared before court on May 21. He has not entered a plea, according to NBC News.

The charge carries a potential maximum sentence of life imprisonment under UK law.

Shortly after Brown’s Instagram post on May 22, which featured him disembarking a private jet captioned “Cook, remain humble,” Bieber commented, “Welcome home.” Other celebrities also responded, with Sexxy Red writing, “They freed my man,” and Austin Mahone using a fax emoji, symbolising agreement.
