Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has expressed strong reservations over the recently formed four-member political committee for Punjab, and directed the party leadership to reissue the notification, appointing MNA Aliya Hamza as the head of the panel.
Imran conveyed his instructions through Senator Ali Zafar to the party’s leadership. The committee originally included Salman Akram Raja, Omar Ayub, Ahmed Khan Bachar and Usman Akram. However, the leadership’s initial move to form the committee without Aliya at the helm prompted the PTI founder’s dissatisfaction.
Imran instructed Senator Zafar to ensure that Aliya is appointed as the committee head and that senior party member Firdous Shamim Naqvi be informed of the decision.
During an informal conversation with journalists at Adiala Jail, Senator Ali Zafar, along with lawyer Faisal Chaudhry, as well as Aliya’s legal counsel, confirmed the development.
