Ban on swimming in rivers, canals reinforced

Deputy Commissioner Capt (retd) Muhammad Waseem has taken notice of the violations of the ban on swimming in rivers, canals, and other water bodies across the district.

According to a press release issued by DC office, he directed all concerned departments to take immediate action under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code against violators.

Highlighting the dangers posed by the hot weather, the Deputy Commissioner warned that swimming in rivers and canals, particularly by underage children, has become a life-threatening activity.

He expressed serious concern over the recent incidents of drowning and emphasized that preventing such tragedies is the top priority of the district administration.

The Deputy Commissioner instructed the police to also take legal action against parents who allow their children to swim in rivers and canals or fail to supervise them properly.
