PSL 12 to be held from March 18 to May 2, PCB announces
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)on Thursday announced the dates for the 12th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), with the tournament scheduled to be held from March 18 to May 2, 2027.
Eight teams will participate in the league for the second consecutive year, with the tournament window finalised after consultations between the PSL Governing Council and franchise representatives.
The PSL Governing Council held a meeting on September 1, attended by the owners and representatives of all eight franchises.
Peshawar Zalmi will enter the tournament as defending champions after winning the PSL 11 title by defeating Hyderabad Kingsmen by five wickets in the final, ending a nine-year wait for the trophy.
PSL 11 also marked the introduction of a player auction for the first time, replacing the player draft.
The final at Gaddafi Stadium drew a record crowd of 32,461 spectators.
Speaking on the occasion, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said the previous season had demonstrated the league’s potential to the world, producing thrilling moments, record crowds and new broadcast records.
“We are committed to staging another outstanding PSL season,” Naqvi said, adding that announcements regarding direct signings and the player auction would be made soon.
PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer said the league was committed to meeting fans’ expectations in 2027.
He said announcing the PSL 12 window was only the first step and that all eight teams would be more determined than ever to compete for the title.
According to the PCB, details regarding direct signings, the player auction, schedule, venues and ticketing for PSL 12 will be announced later.
