A deadly clash erupted between two rival mining groups in Tarnawai Mandriyan, within the limits of Mangal Police Station, after an early-morning armed attack on a phosphate mining site left one man dead and three others seriously injured.
The incident occurred at Phosphate Block A, where armed members of the Saleem Shah and Yaqoob Khan groups allegedly opened indiscriminate fire on the site owned by Aurangzeb Khan.
According to police and local sources, the attackers struck while workers were having breakfast. As a result, Jahangir, a long-time associate of Aurangzeb Khan, was killed on the spot.
Three others, Muhammad Amin, Shah Zaman (son of Mir Jalal, residents of Khyber), and Sabz Ali, sustained critical gunshot wounds and were shifted to Ayub Teaching Hospital.
