A war of narratives

“So whose narrative is prevailing?”

“The Man Who Must Remain Nameless, Voiceless and Faceless…”

“Which component of the three characteristics that you itemized and which apply to this day did you not understand?”

“Oh I wasn’t going to quote him, besides no one but no one can legitimately quote him because he is in isolation….”

“Not true apparently he has been given a couple of poor convicts to clean and to give him food and….why are you laughing?”

“Elite culture even in our jails.”

“I visited the jail that Nelson Mandela was in, and it looked nicer than the jails that non-political convicts are kept…yes I know the South Africans cleaned and painted it for tourists not to be subjected to the unsanitary…”

“Equality for all…”

“Right, I hope you recall that our Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister got visa free travel for a Gulf country for our officials and special….”

“Yeah I know so elite capture there too and he is supposed to be working for the common people! Anyway going back to the narrative I propose that Tariq Fazal Chaudhary as the face of the narrative be replaced by someone more, how shall I put, more legally astute.”

“The Law Minister is busy these days – he is reportedly engaged in drafting the next constitutional amendment that has to be passed by the assembly and…”

“Drafting or refining?”

“OK, so refining?”

“Anyway, Talal Chaudhary tried to appease concerns about the whereabouts of the Speaker and Chief Minister by saying they are well.”

“Ah!!!”

“For your information, I suggest that The Visionary be appointed as the defender of the narrative.”

“He doesn’t touch any subject with effectiveness less than 10 years or so.”

“There you go, I rest my case.”
