The authorities have invited proposals from international and national companies to transform Rawalpindi into a modern, aesthetically developed city.
All international firms have been asked to submit detailed master plans after conducting comprehensive surveys. The plan aims to enhance the city’s appearance and increase revenue simultaneously.
Guidelines issued for the project include redesigning citywide landscaping, remodelling house and plaza frontages along major roads, creating new monuments, beautifying 290 Metro Bus pillars with lighting, and introducing revenue-generating advertising models.
The proposals also include colourful lighting in roadside parks, beautification of recreational parks, tree plantation, theme parks, model food streets, model commercial streets, botanical and vertical gardens, rooftop gardening, and modernised urban traffic designs such as roundabouts and islands in congested areas.
