Trump threatens further strikes on Iran amid rising war pressure

US President Donald Trump has threatened further military action against Iran, saying Washington may have to “destroy” the rest of the country, without specifying what strikes could follow, according to Gulf News.

US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth is also facing growing pressure over the war, with Democrats planning congressional action while some Republicans blame the conflict for their party’s election losses.

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held talks with regional counterparts on security and efforts to de-escalate tensions.

Russian President Vladimir Putin also met Iran’s security chief.

Separately, Saudi air defences intercepted a Houthi ballistic missile targeting Najran and the Medina region, along with a drone over the Eastern Province.
