Trump signals changes in his cabinet after midterm rout
US President Donald Trump has indicated plans to make changes to his cabinet following Republicans’ losses in both chambers of Congress in the midterm elections.
In an interview with CBS News’ 60 Minutes, Trump confirmed that some members of his administration could be replaced when asked whether he intended to fire anyone.
“I do, yeah. Little bit,” Trump said, adding that he was generally satisfied with his cabinet but might make a few changes.
“I love my cabinet. I think they’re good. But I’ll be doing maybe a few changes,” he said.
Trump’s remarks came after he announced that Deputy White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller would take over as White House chief of staff, replacing Susie Wiles.
Wiles, who has served as Trump’s chief of staff, will move to the president’s political operation.
The interview is scheduled to air on Sunday.
