Rainfall brings relief as weather system moves into Punjab

A weather system carrying clouds and light winds from the west has entered Pakistan on Sunday, triggering rainfall across several parts of Punjab, including Lahore.

Rainfall has been reported in several districts of the province, including southern, central and upper Punjab, bringing pleasant weather and lowering temperatures.

In Lahore, rain that began late at night, accompanied by cool winds, improved the weather conditions, providing relief to residents.

The managing director of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has placed officers and staff on alert to ensure drainage arrangements in view of the expected rainfall.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, more rain is expected today and tomorrow. Officials added that after a one-day break, another weather system is likely to enter Pakistan.

According to state broadcaster Radio Pakistan, dry weather is expected in most parts of the country over the next 12 hours.

However, rain-wind with thunderstorm is likely at isolated places in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Upper Punjab, Islamabad, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Wind and hail are also expected at isolated locations during the period.

Islamabad 16°C, Lahore 22°C, Karachi 25°C, Peshawar 19°C, Quetta 10°C, Gilgit 12°C, Murree 8°C and Muzaffarabad 15°C.
