Fans were quick to react, with many suggesting the pair should play sisters in a film.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan in February, Patten opened up about being mistaken for her celebrity counterpart. “I experienced getting recognised before I started acting but not as myself,” she shared.

Patten added that she would get recognised in high school, but as Shailene Woodley. “So it wasn’t for myself,” she said, adding “I remember getting stopped in the airport, and it was a bunch of young girls who loved Divergent, and I sadly had to disappoint them but they didn’t believe me.”
Woodley also weighed in on the conversation. “I’ve met Grace a few times and every time we see each other, we’re like ‘hey twin’ because everyone sees it. I do see it,” she said. Woodley also added, “She’s so lovely so it’s such a compliment.”

Despite the buzz surrounding their resemblance, Woodley and Patten have yet to appear together in a film or television project. Patten recently wrapped up work connected to Big Little Lies, while Woodley has been spotted filming Count My Lies in New York, a new drama series alongside Lindsay Lohan and Kit Harington.
