According to KPT, the coastal strip extending from KMC Pillar 1 to Khayaban-e-Khalid in Hawke’s Bay was originally allotted to the Trust by the government of India in 1875.
However, over the years, land mafias illegally occupied portions of this land and began selling plots at low prices, misleading unsuspecting buyers.
The KPT clarified that these notices are not directed at those who hold legitimate ownership rights.
The Trust acknowledged the 1993 Gothabad Scheme introduced by then-prime minister Benazir Bhutto, which aimed to provide proprietary rights to fishermen families who had resided for generations in the Kakapir Baba and Bhat Islands.
Under this initiative, the Sindh government issued official ownership documents to these communities.
