Twitch star FaZe Lacy has responded to criticism after posting an AI-generated image of himself with NFL wide receiver Tyreek Hill to promote an upcoming stream.

The image, shared on June 14, 2025, sparked backlash across social media for not supporting human artists despite Lacy’s high-profile status and income.

Many fans on X (formerly Twitter) called out Lacy, accusing him of choosing cost-cutting convenience over artistic integrity. One user commented, “You’re a millionaire, bro why not just put the money into getting real flyer artists rather than using AI slop.”

Responding to the controversy during a Twitch broadcast, Lacy addressed the criticism directly. “All the people out there that are b*tching and complaining about people using AI… this poster looks great,” he said. “AI made it. It got made in less than 30 seconds. It was free. I didn’t have to pay someone $150 and wait a day and a half.”

Lacy admitted the method was lazy but justified it by explaining the short notice he had for the Tyreek Hill collaboration. “I got told about the Tyreek Hill stream an hour before. I don’t have time to wait,” he said.

This incident follows Lacy’s recent reveal that he is now multistreaming on Kick and Twitch for an added $100,000 per month. “Yeah, I’ll admit it, I’m doing it for the bag,” he said.

The controversy highlights ongoing tensions around AI use in creative industries, particularly among influencers and streamers.
