Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori delivered a forceful address at the My Karachi Exhibition on Saturday, emphasising Pakistan’s unwavering stance on national security while highlighting the urgent need to revive Karachi, the country’s economic powerhouse.
Speaking on recent acts of terrorism in Islamabad and Balochistan, Governor Tessori stressed that Pakistan would respond decisively to any aggression, warning that hostile designs, including India-sponsored terrorism from Afghanistan, would never succeed against a resilient nation.
Turning to Karachi, Tessori described the city as the backbone of Pakistan’s economy, contributing nearly 54 per cent of national exports and 67 per cent of tax revenues. He urged that a city shouldering such a disproportionate share of the national economic burden must be prioritised in the country’s development agenda.
