Government reduces petrol, diesel prices again

The government on Tuesday reduced the price of petrol by Rs2.71 per litre to Rs392.66 and high-speed diesel (HSD) by 3 paise to Rs396.82 for Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices under the federal government’s petroleum pricing mechanism, according to a press release issued by the Petroleum Division.

Petrol was previously priced at Rs395.37 per litre, while HSD cost Rs396.85 per litre. The revised rates will remain effective for October 14.

The Petroleum Division said the adjustments were based on the government’s prescribed mechanism, which takes into account international market developments, including Platts rates, premiums and incidental costs.

On Monday, the government had reduced the price of petrol by Rs2.93 per litre to Rs395.37, while increasing the price of HSD by 61 paisa to Rs396.85 per litre.

Oil prices fall in international market

Brent crude futures fell $2.02, or 1.89%, to $104.63 per barrel by 1049 GMT, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures dropped $1.89, or 2.02%, to $91.85 per barrel.

Both benchmarks had risen by nearly $2 per barrel in the previous session, with Brent settling at its highest level since September 15.
