Lahore Qalandars put on a commanding batting performance to post 209 for 6 in their 20 overs against Islamabad United after being sent in to bat in their HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 clash on Wednesday.

Openers Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Naeem gave Lahore a steady start. Fakhar top-scored with 44 off 30 balls, hitting five boundaries and two sixes, while Naeem chipped in with a run-a-ball 25 before being run out.

Abdullah Shafique added 22 off 17, and Daryl Mitchell kept the momentum going with a brisk 28 from just 18 deliveries. However, it was the lower middle-order that shifted the game into high gear.

Sam Billings provided a late flourish with a blistering 38* off 17 balls, smashing four sixes. All-rounder Sikandar Raza matched his pace, hammering 39 off just 17 deliveries, including three boundaries and as many sixes, as Lahore powered past the 200-run mark.

For Islamabad United, Imad Wasim and Jason Holder picked up two wickets, while Ben Dwarshuis picked one wicket.

The Qalandars’ aggressive innings sets Islamabad United a stiff target of 210 as they look to extend their five-match winning streak.
