Mir Raza murder: Judicial commission to inspect crime scene
The judicial commission investigating the Mir Raza murder case on Monday decided to personally inspect the locations linked to the incident, saying an on-site examination would strengthen its final recommendations.
The commission will visit the crime scene and the guesthouse today. It directed the Sindh government focal person and Additional Home Secretary Javed Abro to make necessary arrangements for the visit.
DSP Siraj Lashari has also been directed to accompany the victim’s family and their lawyer during the inspection.
During Monday’s hearing, the commission also set a schedule for recording statements of people involved in the case.
Kashif Iftikhar and DSP Siraj Lashari will record their statements at 11am on Wednesday.
The commission registrar was directed to immediately inform all relevant individuals and ensure their attendance.
The commission also appreciated the work of journalist Soulat Jafri and others on the movement of suspicious vehicles linked to the case.
It said that Soulat Jafri and other journalists had done “excellent work” and their efforts were commendable.
The commission directed that the journalists be called for a presentation at 11am on October 6.
They will brief the commission on the movement of suspicious vehicles during and after the incident and use a map of the area to explain their movements and possible routes.
